Social and Relationship Skills Services

Social skills practice is a critical piece to helping neurodivergent adults make the most out of all aspects of their lives: at home, at work, and everywhere in between. All of our small group programs include some basic social skills instruction and reinforcement, but a few of our offerings are dedicated specifically to helping young adults form and maintain healthy relationships using appropriate communication.

Kendall has been teaching social skills for over thirteen years and is a PEERS®-certified facilitator from the Semel Institute at UCLA. Our social skills and communication curriculum incorporates research-backed instruction that can be put into practice out in the real world, including modern applications to online spaces.

PEERS® for Young Adults (In-Person and Virtual Options)

Tuesdays 4:30-6:00 (young adults);  Tuesdays 6:00-7:30 (social coaches)

$2400 or 4 payments of $600

PEERS® for Young Adults is the first evidence-based group treatment program for young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), other neurodevelopmental disorders, and social challenges, and has been developed over the past two decades of research at UCLA.

Adults ages 18-29 register with a designated social coach (can be a parent, caregiver, or occasionally another close individual). An ASD diagnosis is not required, and the PEERS® curriculum can also help adults with other reasons for their social challenges.

The 16-week program consists of 2 90-minute weekly sessions led by a PEERS® certified facilitator: one for the young adult and one for designated caregivers or social coaches to enable them to support skills development beyond the program.

Young adults practice critical social and relational skills for making and maintaining healthy relationships in all areas of their lives: at home, at work, at school, with friends, and in romantic relationships.

Research has shown that the PEERS® curriculum is equally effective when delivered virtually, so to accommodate our young adults and their social coaches’ schedules, we currently offer this exclusively online.
