Inspiration from HillmanTok University

During this period of an attempted erasure of DEI programs in public and private settings, neurodivergent adults are rightfully worried; neurodiversity and inclusion classrooms have it right in the name. We don’t yet know how it will affect recent shifts in hiring practices and inclusive interview processes, its impact on higher education accessibility services, or the general attitude in the world at large.

So it is wonderful to see a community reminding everyone that ending DEI programs doesn’t erase us. Check out this recent USA Today article about HillmanTok University, an emerging “online HBCU” finding innovative ways to reach and teach the black community through social media.

More people fall under DEI categories than don’t in this country; people don’t seem to be talking about that right now. HillmanTok University is an example of how to innovate methods to still provide community, knowledge transfer, and a reminder that we are still here and aren’t going anywhere. Pretty inspiring, in my book.
